Independently owned boutique hotel beats country’s best to take national title...
Brisbane’s Emporium Hotel is officially the best in the country! Last night at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards 2012 in Hobart, this independently owned and operated shining star was awarded best of the best – taking the title of Best Luxury Accommodation in AUSTRALIA.
The Qantas Australian Tourism Awards are the tourism industry’s premier awards program and most anticipated event, celebrating and recognising excellence. Finalists in this highly competitive and prestigious category included some of the most revered luxury accommodation providers in the world - Pinctada Cable Beach Resort and Spa in Broome, The Australasian Circa 1858 on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, Saffire Freycinet luxury lodge in Coles Bay Tasmania, Sheraton on the Park in Sydney, Hyatt Canberra and Crown Metropol in Melbourne.
“Emporium Hotel Brisbane has won applause and admiration from visitors all over the globe, as well as a manetlepiece full of awards, however being recognised for our hospitality approach and named as the best luxury accommodation provider in Australia is what we strive to achieve,” General Manager Peter Savoff.
“The award is testament to the faith, commitment and inspiration provided more than five years ago from owner and developer Anthony John and his wife Francine. They created the concept of the Emporium Hotel, the design and they built the hotel from the ground up, in so creating an experience that has no equal. We are incredibly proud to hold this title; every staff member has won this accolade and we hold it proudly for Brisbane,” he said.
When luxury service, facilities, design and approach are called for, Brisbane’s Emporium Hotel is never found wanting. The Hotel team are passionate hospitality professionals and to represent Queensland at the National Tourism Awards last night was a true honour.
“Delivering consistent world class luxury accommodation and service takes incredible commitment and training and we are so very proud of the team,” said owner Tony John. “Our team takes the concept of ‘hospitality’ always to a new level. It is a highly competitive time in the tourism industry; no more than in the top end of the accommodation sector and we must thank our guests and supporters who fill our hotel,” he said.
“As Brisbane continues to position itself as Australia’s leading world city, it is important a luxury hotel can exceed international guest expectations. This we do, and will continue to do as a shining light for Queensland and Australia,” he said.
The magnificent win comes on the back of a highly successful year for the hotel. Most recently, having celebrated officially achieving Silver Certification with EarthCheck, a badge that took more than three years to earn and positions the property as a leader in the unique worldwide group of sustainable tourism operators, who bear the internationally recognised EarthCheck Certification Standard.
